In collaboration with the Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam (DIA) and the Goethe-Institut, we present the Deutsches Kino series. Each month, we screen a contemporary German film that does not receive a nationwide release but is still well worth watching. The DIA and the Goethe-Institut take turns providing an engaging and in-depth introduction before the screening.
Twelve years after Trojan had to leave Berlin, hardship brings him back to the city after a failed coup. Trojan has hardly any money left and urgently needs a new job. His previous work maxim of only performing cash jobs is becoming increasingly difficult to realize in a largely complex technologized and digitalized world.
After several attempts, he is finally offered the prospect of a lucrative job by the mediator Rebecca. A valuable painting is to be stolen from the restoration workshop of a museum. The project brings him together with the getaway driver Diana, his former companion Luca and the young Chris. At first, the project looks promising. However, due to the hidden antagonist Victor, who has his own plans with the painting, the situation gradually becomes more and more confusing. Soon it is not only a matter of getting away with the money, but also with life.
