Oscar is an American drug dealer residing in Tokyo. When he is lured into a police trap and flees to the bathroom, he is shot dead. Oscar exits his own body, hovers over Tokyo, and looks down: at his sister's grief, the rooms of a love hotel, and even at life on a molecular level. During his spirit's wandering through the city, the visions become increasingly chaotic and turn into a true nightmare. The past, present, and future blend in a hallucinogenic whirlpool.
Enter The Void is a psychedelic nightmare as only Gaspar Noé can create. The director of Irreversible and Climax worked on the film for a staggering seven years, considering it his ultimate dream project. And the result is impressive. The vibrant, neon-lit Tokyo melds with the DMT that Oscar smokes just before his death into a 160-minute panic attack.
