Urchin
In this powerful directorial debut by Harris Dickinson (Babygirl, Triangle of Sadness), homeless drug addict Mike (Frank Dillane) attempts to get his life back on track after being released from prison. He finds a job, a roof over his head, and even the beginnings of a tentative new relationship. Mike longs for peace and stability, but on the streets of London, relapse is always close at hand. Hopeful yet self-destructive, Mike not only confronts his own limits, but also a system that repeatedly fails him.
Urchin, which also features Dickinson in an acting role, is a raw and gripping character study, balancing social realism with dark absurdity. The film had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where Frank Dillane broke through with the Best Actor award and Harris Dickinson received the prestigious FIPRESCI Prize for Direction.
