Wall Street (1987)

The ruthless entrepreneur Gordon Gekko, with his hair slicked back, dressed in a sharp suit, and an ironic smile on his lips, overwhelms the shareholders of a struggling company with his mantra, “Greed is Good.” He also manages to win over the ambitious Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen). Bud would go through fire and water for Gekko, until it turns out that Gekko wants him to hand over his father’s company to him. A formidable indictment of the selfish and greedy 1980s. Oscar for Douglas. In 2010, director Stone made a slightly less successful but timely sequel.
