This film is part of our TOTAL DESTRUCTION! series, in which everything—mentally, physically, or emotionally—is spectacularly destroyed.
On a sunny Sunday morning, a bus is hijacked on public transport. Only three people survive the massacre: the driver Makoto, the schoolgirl Kozue, and her brother Naoki. Two years later, still struggling to rebuild their lives, Makoto buys an old bus and invites Kozue and Naoki on a road trip.
Shinji Aoyama’s story about trauma and resilience is as tragic as it is beautiful. A compassionate portrait of three people trying to live with their eyes set on the future, while the ghosts of the past continue to haunt them.
