When fate brings the bored music teacher JJ together with friends Naoise and Liam Óg, it marks the beginning of an unprecedented Irish hip-hop act. Rapping in their native language, the rebellious rap trio Kneecap breaks through in Belfast and quickly becomes the face of a civil rights movement aimed at saving the Irish language. As public debate on the issue ignites, police and politicians do everything they can to silence the anarchistic trio.
In this wildly original sex-, drugs-, and hip-hop biopic, Kneecap plays themselves, delivering a global rallying cry in defense of their cultural heritage.
