Start of Christmas Drinks: 8:00 PM
Film Screening: 9:00 PM
The holidays are fast approaching, and the Lesbische Filmclub Pottenkijkers is seizing the opportunity to screen its favorite Christmas movie: Carol (2015). On December 18th, you and your chosen family are warmly invited to our queer Christmas gathering, featuring heartwarming drinks, festive gifts, and of course, Carol.
Just like the protagonists in the film, you might meet someone special while browsing our mini Christmas market, filled with holiday treasures made for and by queers.
Already finished your Christmas shopping but feeling lucky? The Christmas market also features a raffle where you can win a variety of prizes! All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to a charity supporting the queer community.
Carol
Therese (Rooney Mara) works at a department store in Manhattan and dreams of a more fulfilling life when she meets Carol (Cate Blanchett), an older, alluring woman trapped in a failing marriage. Sparks fly instantly, but in 1950s America, strict and unforgiving morals still reign. Despite this, the forbidden love between Therese and Carol refuses to be contained, unfolding into a gripping, intimate, and passionate melodrama.
Carol is directed by Todd Haynes (Far from Heaven) and based on the 1952 novel The Price of Salt by The Talented Mr. Ripley author Patricia Highsmith.
