Factory worker Filip has just become a father. To capture his daughter’s first days, he has bought an 8mm camera. As no one else in the village has a camera, the local Communist Party enlists him as a cameraman. His first amateur films take him to regional film festivals, but when his new passion begins to clash with his professional and personal relationships, he becomes entangled in the consequences of his own ambition…
